Installation on Windows

If you will install SSForge on Windows system, you can use following methods to install it:

1.  Install SSForge with Windows ZIP Package:

     a. Install with telnet:
     If the host where SSForge will be installed can be connected through Internet/Intranet with telnet, you can download the SSForge Windows ZIP package from our website http://www.ssforge.com and decompress the zip file then upload these files to your SSForge host with FTP program (Please contact your host provider to get FTP account if you don't know).

    After you upload the files,  you can use telnet to login SSForge host with your user name and password then enter the folder where the files are uploaded  (The user name and password is your host's Windows users.  If you don't know, please contact your host provider).  If you want to install programs or manage services with telnet, you need to login with user which belong to "Administrators" group instead of "Guests" or "Users" etc. Please see How to login Windows host with telnet?.

     After login telnet, you can use "CD path" command to enter the folder where the SSForge files are uploaded. Then you will find a file named "Installer.bat" and a folder "ssforge". Just input "Installer" command, then it will require you to input a destination folder to install files in, press ENTER directly to install it to default path "C:\Program Files\SSForge" or input another path then press ENTER. Then the installer will do all the remainder work for you.

     b. Install directly:
     If you can operate directly the host where SSForge will be installed, or can login that host through Internet/Intranet and can see and operate it's screen, we recommend you to download SSForge Windows Installer from our website http://www.ssforge.com to install.

     If you install SSForge ZIP Package directly, just click "Start Menu" => "All Programs" => "Accessories" = "Command Prompt", if the SSForge host is Vista/Windows 2008, you need to right click "Command Prompt", then select "Run as Administrator" to run.

     Then you can use "CD path" command to enter the folder which includes the SSForge install files, you will find a file named "installer.bat" and a folder "ssforge". Just input "Installer" command, then it will require you to input a destination folder to install files in, press ENTER directly to install it to default path "C:\Program Files\SSForge" or input another path then press ENTER. Then the installer will do all the remainder work for you.


2.  Install SSForge with Windows Installer:
     If you can operate directly the host where SSForge will be installed, or can login that host through Internet/Intranet and can see and operate it's screen, you can download the SSForge Windows Installer file from our website http://www.ssforge.com and upload it to your SSForge host with FTP program (Please contact your host provider to get FTP account if you don't know).

    After you upload it, just double click the installer file on your SSForge host to run it. Then the setup program will prompt you to select a path to install it just like any other programs. After installing finished, the SSForge service will be also installed and started, and will automatically start when Windows startup.
